Thank you for visiting my website!
I have happily spent the past 30 years as a veterinary assistant, dog trainer, puppy school instructor and a long time member of the IACP. I also have a very rewarding career at Cloverleaf Animal Hospital, working for 2 great doctors for the past 17 years. Last year I tried making a change to part time but I missed everyone around me and I simply can't imagine doing anything else, this is my whole life. Clients have become my friends!
Safe, Comfy, Home-Style Personal Care Boarding
I started boarding dogs 4 years ago because a lot of pet owners
like to put their pets in a more quiet, homey atmosphere rather than a noisy
kennel, especially those with older pets or some that get too stressed around
large groups of dogs. I work out of two locations, our older home just outside of Cuyahoga Hts.
and our 17-acre retirement farm which is in Saybrook Twp. between Geneva and Ashtabula.
My husband and I raise and train English Pointers with our horses and compete with them in field trials.
Sometimes my boarders travel with me to our farm on my days off and both locations have completely fenced in yards. **All pick-ups and drop-offs are at the animal hospital**
My kennel room has very large and comfortable full-view wire kennels with large thick bath towels for
bedding, a calming pheramone plug-in unit, an air purifier and 24-hour relaxation music.
I am fortunate to work a split shift, so dogs get to take turns in the playroom for 2 hours in the morning, an additional hour at lunchtime and 3 hours again in the evening. I have 2 little ferrets who supply my boarders with live entertainment! My ferrets are actually a big hit with the dogs, they are fascinated by watching them play! I guess for them it's sort of like watching squirrels!
I love animals, but I do not fill my home with a lot of boarders. Too many dogs and I would not be able to enjoy what I do! I prefer to conduct my business on a very small scale with the emphasis on professional quality care for your pet.
